Open Evening: Parents are wondering why Rosebank cannot have 2 parents’ nights instead of 1? As 1st parents night is February half way through the term. Concerned parents can telephone or make an appointment with teacher/head. If teacher had any major concerns about children, then they would contact parents direct.  Mr Brander will take back to decision making group and discuss. Will not happen this year as agenda has been made up for this term/year.  Will look at for 2010/11, as school has made up their working time objective. Action: James (for 2010/11)

Concerns raised again about Primary 7 pupils having to do toilet duty. At present all P7’s are on a rota basis.

A lot of parents unaware of this happening.

Mr Brander will be discussing with his management team.

Letters will be sent out to parents.

A big thank you to Wendy MacIntosh whom comes to the school on a regular basis to sort out and if named property distributes to pupils or parents. Wendy will continue to do this.

Mr Brander thanked the Parent Council for the marvellous job they are doing. However the business of the school is Learning & Teaching and at present is a most exciting time in Scotland. This is Curriculum for Excellence and the Policy of the Scottish Government. Parents should be aware that teachers will use different ways of teaching, based on the results of research. Teachers (across Nairnshire) . Teachers have had 3 intensive days of training to move forward with this. We all have had set views of teaching but times are changing and we all must move forward. The L & T covers all subjects. It purpose is to motivate children to learn and have practical use for it and children to obtain the best they can from it. High standards are set across the board. This is being put into practice in classes at present.
